Nestled on the northeastern shore of the Dominican Republic, Samaná is a secluded paradise where rainforest meets coast. Brilliant white sand beaches stretch alongside the glistening Atlantic, lush forests offer endless exploration, and the peninsula’s thriving ecotourism scene make Samaná an ideal destination for the Earth-loving adventurer. Our retreat centers around Tapas, the Sanskrit word that means, “to heat, to give out warmth, to shine, to burn.” The concept of Tapas teaches us that heat is necessary for purification. Through fiery flow and meditation, you will stoke your inner flame and brighten your glow.

When not on your mat, vacation options abound! Lounge at the pool, bask in the beach sunshine, curl up in a cabana with a book or two, sprawl out in your suite, indulge in a visit to the spa, or get your ecotourism adventure on. Catamaran tours, ziplining, parasailing, horseback riding, and hiking are all available during our stay.

Whether you’re seeking outdoor adventure, poolside piña coladas, or some combination of both, this Samaná retreat is sure to light your fire.

If you prefer to fly into Santo Domingo (SDQ) or Punta Cana (PUJ), transportation to the hotel can be arranged for an additional cost.

2. Do I need a visa to visit the Dominican Republic?

You do not need a visa for a visit under 30 days to the Dominican Republic. You must have a valid passport with at least one blank page for an entry stamp.

3. What are expenses like in the Dominican Republic?

The Dominican Republic provides excellent value for money compared to most Caribbean destinations. Casual and high end shopping and dining are available throughout our retreat.

4. Do I need any vaccinations to enter the Dominican Republic?

No vaccinations are required to enter the Dominican Republic, however CDC vaccination recommendations can be found here.

5. What are the accommodations like?

We are staying in a 5-star beachfront hotel in the quiet town of Samana. All accommodations are suites. You may book a room in a two-bedroom suite or book a private one-bedroom suite.

6. If I am traveling alone, can I still share a room with someone?

Yes. If you are traveling on your own and would prefer to share a room, we will do our best to match you with a roommate of the same gender. If we are unable to match you with a roommate, a single supplement will apply.

7. Will there be free time?

Yes! Each day there will be designated free time to honor your personal retreat. You may wish to go for a dip in the pool, stroll along the beach, explore local cafes and shops, or spend time relaxing in solitude.
